Housekeeper

Housekeeper (Casual)

Martindale Place is a unique Senior’s Community where Christian values are lived and excellent housing is provided. It’s a safe and friendly environment, which allows seniors to sustain their independent lifestyle without the worries and costs of maintaining a home. Our campus is growing, and we are looking for people to join our team who are passionate about providing exceptional service to seniors.

Overview:

To be a professional Housekeeper able of attending to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail. With the goal to create a clean and orderly environment for our residents that they are proud to call home.

Major Responsibilities:

Provide cleaning services to ensure apartments, interior and exterior, public and common areas, and business offices are in a safe, neat, clean and attractive condition.
Provide floor care services for all floor surfaces.
Respond to resident pull cords or pendent calls by wearing a pager while on duty
Perform a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting and polishing
Provide property oversite when “live in” staff is off by carrying the emergency phone and responding to emergencies as required
Protect equipment and make sure there are no inadequacies
Notify superiors on any damages, deficits, or disturbances
Deal with resident complaints/requests with professionalism and patience
Check stocking levels of all consumables and notify supervisor when appropriate
Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices

Qualifications:

Genuine enjoyment and heart for serving seniors;
Strong attention to detail and quality;
Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
Customer-oriented and friendly
Current (within 6 months) original and acceptable Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screen

I am so glad and grateful that I can live at Martindale Place! I have made such good friends here. During COVID, it was wonderful to get some exercise on the balcony while being led by Monica from the church yard outside our apartments. When we were isolated in our rooms, we all had assigned buddies. My buddy and me, we are still such great friends and that has turned out to be one of the best experiences I’ve had at Martindale Place. The staff are so responsive for a big variety of needs; I feel so well cared for.

The residents are just the best and the reason it’s been my favourite job ever. It’s also great having a ‘work family’ which is something I didn’t have previously.
