Location: Martindale Place, St. Catharines, ON
Position Type: Full-Time (35 hours/week) | 10-Week Contract (Beginning June 2025)

Martindale Place is currently seeking a compassionate and motivated Life Enrichment Aide to join our team. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a vibrant and caring Christian seniors’ community, where your creativity and enthusiasm can bring joy and purpose to our residents.
Role Overview:
As a Life Enrichment Aide, you’ll support the Life Enrichment Coordinator in delivering dynamic, meaningful recreational programs that meet the physical, social, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of our residents. Your presence and energy will contribute to a vibrant community atmosphere, helping residents feel connected, engaged, and cared for.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and leading daily programs and activities for residents
- Build warm, supportive relationships with residents across the Martindale Place campus
- Support both the Life Enrichment and Wellness Coordinators with day-to-day initiatives
- Contribute to a positive, enriching environment that enhances residents’ quality of life
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed a program in Therapeutic Recreation, Social Work, or a related field
- A genuine heart for serving and engaging with seniors
- Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently
- Friendly, approachable, and resident-focused
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Familiarity with dementia-friendly strategies is an asset
Working Conditions:
- 35 hours per week (Full-time for 10 weeks)
- Programs and activities will take place both indoors and outdoors (weather permitting)
- Requires standing and walking for prolonged periods; some sitting involved
Eligibility (Canada Summer Jobs):
To be eligible for this position, applicants must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or have refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN) and be legally entitled to work in Canada

Server (Part Time)
Martindale Place is a unique Senior’s Community where Christian values are lived and excellent housing is provided. It’s a safe and friendly environment, which allows seniors to sustain their independent life-style without the worries and costs of maintaining a home. Our campus is growing and we are looking for people to join our team who are passionate about providing exceptional service to seniors.
Overview:
Servers are accountable to the Head Server and Head Chef and assists with all aspects of the dining experience for the residents of Martindale Place, striving to regularly exceed the expectations of the residents and supporting the Culinary department with the daily operations of the Dining Room.
Major Responsibilities:
- Promote and execute hospitality services that regularly exceeds expectations;
- Promote a high level of customer service in all aspects of the residents dining experience;
- Provide creative ways to make mealtimes unique and memorable;
- Strive to surprise and delight our residents
- Consult with chef/sous chef regularly for continued food and service improvements;
- Accommodate residents who may have health related restrictions;
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness and quality.
- Ensure tables are ready for residents and guests to arrive
- Be aware of special requests, inclusive of dietary restrictions, allergies and food intolerances.
- Anticipate residents service needs by actively listening and responding positively to residents’ questions, concerns and requests in an effort to resolve issues, delight and build trust.
Qualifications:
- Genuine enjoyment and heart for serving seniors;
- 2 or more years dining experience in the hospitality industry;
- Strong attention to detail and quality;
- Food Handlers permits;
- As an experienced professional, you will demonstrate the ability to show initiative, innovation, the ability to work independently and possess excellent communication skills;
- You are a team player with developing leadership, team building skills and well-developed customer service skills.
- Current (within 6 months) original and acceptable Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Screen
