Become a Board Member
The Board of Directors consists of 7-9 members with a diverse mix of experienced business and industry professionals. The Board’s work is supported by specialized committees in the areas of Finance, Fund Raising, Resident Assistance, Governance and Capital Planning. The Board of Directors is the legal authority for 60 Plus (St Catharines) Residences Inc. (O/A Martindale Place) As a member of the Board, a Director acts in a position of trust for the community and is responsible for the effective governance of the organization.
Board meetings are held monthly and there are yearly strategic planning sessions. Members of our Board serve as volunteers to advance Martindale Place’s mission, vision and values. As a Board Director, you would be expected to prepare for, attend and conscientiously participate in Board meetings and participate fully in one or more committees.
Invitation for nominations
The Martindale Place Board is currently seeking individuals to join our Board of Directors and is inviting applications with one or more of the following qualifications:
- Experience with not-for-profit organizations
- Previous Board Experience
- Competency in one or more of the following areas:
- organizational management
- financial management
- policy development
- strategic planning
- government relations/advocacy
- fundraising
- marketing/public relations
- human resources
- legal experience
- senior’s care

The Governance and Human Resources Committee will review submissions and make recommendations to the Board of Directors for interview. The nomination process is conducted in strict confidentiality.
